The University of Birmingham is happy to announce the award of 15 £5,000 scholarships to overseas students domiciled in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa who are applying to an undergraduate degree at the University beginning in September 2025.

The scholarship is 15 x £5,000 towards tuition fees (for the first year only) of a full-time undergraduate degree programme at the University of Birmingham UK campus, starting September 2025.
Requirements for the University of Birmingham Undergraduate Scholarship
The candidates must:
a. Have accepted an offer and have decided to enrol in a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham beginning in September 2025. The student must be starting the first year of an undergraduate degree at Birmingham’s UK campus.
b. Meet the academic requirements outlined in their programme offer.
c. Identify as domiciled in one of the following countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa.
d. Be classified by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition purposes, and be able to pay any remaining tuition costs not covered by the scholarship.
e. Have enough money to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel charges related with studying in the UK.

f. Beginning their studies at the University in September 2025 (the scholarship award may not be delayed).
g. Be registered with and have their undergraduate study application attached to one of our local representatives, which are listed alphabetically below.
h. Please submit your scholarship application to one of our local reps before June 27, 2025.
i. Pay their net tuition fees for the first year by November 1, 2025, immediately after enrolment.

How to Apply
- To apply for the scholarship students will need to have accepted an offer from Birmingham, have selected Birmingham as their firm choice, and be in contact with one of our local representatives listed above by the scholarship deadline of 27 June 2025. Selection for the award will be based on academic merit.
- Only under exceptional circumstances in which the University is unable to choose an awardee based solely on academic merit (for instance, if two candidates have identical grades) will applicants be asked to attend an online interview.
- Decisions will be announced in early July and the scholarships will be awarded upon the students’ enrolment in September 2025.
