Africa Knowledge Hub – Student Research Grant 2025

About the Program:

The Africa Knowledge Hub – Student Research Grant supports final-year undergraduate students in healthcare fields across Africa who are conducting impactful research aligned with global health priorities. Selected students will receive a mini-grant, mentorship, and access to training to help complete and publish their work.

Eligibility Criteria of the Program:

Interested candidates for this research grant program MUST fulfill the following requirements:

• Applicants MUST be a final-year undergraduate student (Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing, Allied Health, etc.)

• Applicants MUST be enrolled in a recognized African university

• Applicants MUST be working on a final-year project related to global health issues (e.g., infectious diseases, maternal & child health, mental health, health systems, etc.)

• Applicants MUST not have not yet completed your research as of the application deadline

Application Requirements:

Applicants will be required to submit the following:

1. Written Project Summary (Max: 1,000 Words) – Prepare a concise and structured summary of your proposed research including:

• Background: What problem are you addressing and why?

• Objectives

• Research Questions

• Methodology

• Expected Outcomes or Potential Impact

(You are required to Submit this in PDF or Word format.)

2. Personal Video Presentation (Max: 3 Minutes)

Upload a short video (recorded on your phone or laptop) on Scholarly after creating an account. In your video, respond to:

• Why do you need this grant and how will it help with your project?

• How is your project relevant to global health?

• What are your personal goals as a student researcher?

Provide your video link in this form (make sure it’s publicly viewable).

Application Deadline:

The deadline of the application is July 21st, 2025. Early applications are highly encouraged.
