About the Scholarship Program:
The scheme was inaugurated by His Royal Majesty the Majesty, the Alake of Egbaland Oba Dr. Oyebade Lipede early in 1995 at the Alake Palace Hall. The scheme has the Management Board and the Selection Committee which meet jointly and severally as occasions demand, especially to deliberate and consider number of awards to be made each year. According to the decision of the Management Board and the donor, the objectives of the scheme are:
- To provide higher educational opportunities for talented but less privileged youths of Egbaland.
- To contribute to the enhancement of the human resource development of Egbaland.
The Management Board was headed by Professor S.O. Biobaku, a renowned historian, and the Selection Committee on Professor R.A. Sobulo, an agriculturalist. The scheme which started its operation at the Alake Palace Hall where all meetings and decisions were held, and grants awarded to successful applicants, now has an Administrative Secretariat along Polytechnic Road opposite the Union Bank of Nigeria Plc building. The scheme also has few important officials, for example, the Honorary Secretary, Treasurer, Admin Manager, and few other Clerical Assistants. The scheme covers almost all fields of study ranging from science and technology to Management related disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship Program:
- Applicants MUST be citizens of NIgeria
- Applicants MUST be from Egba land
- 100 Level Students are not Eligible but direct entry students are qualified.
- College of Education students are not eligible.
Method of Application/Submission
All completed Application forms are to be returned to the Hon. Secretary, A.G. Leventis (Egba) Scholarship Scheme Polytechnic Road, Onikolobo, Opposite Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Abeokuta, with the following or submitted online:
- Photocopies of Relevant Education Certificates;
- Evidence of current Studentship/Admission Letter from your University within Nigeria;
- A copy of the most recent statement of Result duly authenticated by the designated officer of the institution;
- In the case of post graduate or research students, a copy of the research proposal where applicable.
- Photocopy of Certificate of Birth.
- Photocopy of Certificate of Origin from Applicant’s Local Government Area in Egbaland.
NOTE: Shortlisted candidates shall be interviewed at the Scheme’s Headquarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State
