About the Scholarship Program:
SieDi-Hub (Innovation Hub for Inclusiveness, Empowerment, and Social Development) is a social impact organization that empowers young people through innovation, capacity-building, and community engagement. Through our programs, we champion equitable access to education, leadership development, digital literacy, and civic participation. The SieDi-Hub Opportunity Youth Educational Scholarship is a need-based, full-ride scholarship initiative aimed at supporting Nigerian students particularly those from low-income and vulnerable backgrounds who have just gained admission or are in their first year of study at a tertiary institution but are at risk of dropping out due to life-altering circumstances. Funded by generous anonymous donors committed to educational equity, this scholarship offers more than financial aid. It is a transformational program that equips scholars with leadership skills, real-world work experience, and mentorship opportunities that prepare them to be change-makers in their communities.
We believe that talent exists in every corner of Nigeria, but opportunity does not. The Opportunity Youth Educational Scholarship was created to bridge that gap—giving promising students from disadvantaged backgrounds the support they need to succeed academically, personally, and professionally. The goal is to build a pipeline of future-ready, socially conscious leaders.
Benefits of the Scholarship Program:
Each year, students are selected to receive:
- ₦250,000 annually
- Tuition Coverage
- Compulsory school fees, and book support for the full duration of their studies.
- Access to mentorship, career coaching, and leadership development
- Volunteer and internship placements with SieDi-Hub projects
Expectations from Awardees:
Recipients of the scholarship are expected to:
- Maintain academic excellence and submit annual academic progress reports
- Complete their studies within the expected time frame
- Volunteer with SieDi-Hub during semesters and holidays
- Participate in community outreach, mentoring, and other SieDi-Hub programs
Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship Program:
The scholarship is open to Nigerian youths who:
- Are aged 17 to 25 years
- Be a Nigerian citizen (proof of identity will be required).
- Have just gained admission or are in their first year at a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution
- Are experiencing significant financial hardship or personal challenges (e.g., loss of a parent, displacement, family crisis, etc.)
- Are committed to volunteering and giving back to their communities
- Commit to submitting academic reports and maintaining good academic standing.
- Students from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State are highly encouraged to apply.
Supporting Documents:
To complete your application, you must:
- Fill out the online application form
- Provide the following documents:
- Personal statement (1–2 pages, 1000–1500 words)
- Admission letter or proof of first-year enrollment
- Available academic records (WAEC, UTME results, etc.)
- Two reference contacts (teachers, mentors, religious/community leaders)
- Proof of hardship (e.g., death certificate, displacement record, medical report)

Selection Process:
Applications are reviewed by a Selection Committee based on:

Award Announcement:
Successful applicants will be notified and awarded by September 15 of each year.

Applications for the SieDi-Hub Opportunity Youth Educational Scholarship 2026 are open for entries until the 31st of August, 2026. Early applications are highly encouraged.
