About the Scholarship Program:
The Ogu General Assembly (OGA) was established in 2019 to provide the Ogu with a unified platform where we can meet from time to time to reflect on common issues that affect us individually and collectively as a people bound by a common cultural heritage. It is in this form of reflection that we hope to constantly evolve a new social paradigm based on the unique cultural heritage of the Ogu as handed down to us by several generations of our forebears. By learning more about the history, culture, and social values of the Ogu, we hope to move the narrative away from the domain of perpetual coloniality, where minority identities are often concocted for the purpose of domination, division, and denigration. It is our firm belief that colonially created geographical spaces and governance institutions should not be the primary determinants of a people’s identity.
The Ogu General Assembly (OGA) has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 Annual Students’ Support Bursary, aimed at supporting Ogu students in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship Program:
Interested candidates for the scholarship program MUST fulfill the following requirements:
- Bursary is open to candidates of Ogu origin
- Applicants MUST be currently enrolled in a recognized institution of higher learning within Nigeria.
- Preference would be given to applicants who are either indigent or academically outstanding.
Supporting Documents:
When applying for this program, the following documents will be required from you:
- Personal Statement
- Proof of Current Studentship /Origin
- 2 referees who must be members of the Ogu General Assembly
Application Deadline:
Applications for the OGA Scholarship Application for Undergraduate Students 2025 are open for entries until the 23rd of August, 2025. Early applications are highly encouraged.
