About the scholarship program
In 2001, Dr. (Mrs.) Seinye O.B. Lulu-Briggs established the O.B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation in the name of her beloved husband, High Chief (Dr.) O.B. Lulu-Briggs, OON, DCF, DSSRS, (1930-2018), to honor, celebrate and institutionalize his legendary, giving. His love and commitment to humanity shone through his charitable and philanthropic acts which equipped, empowered, and enabled people – particularly the most vulnerable and under-served – to live full, purposeful, and dignified lives. He also donated buildings and supported institutions that educate, care for, and secure people’s spiritual and material well-being in the Niger Delta, across Nigeria and around the world. This inspired our mission, which is to implement sustainable interventions that enhance the quality of life for under-served persons.
The Scholarships Programme helps to broaden access to and promote achievement in education especially for students who would otherwise be shutout due to financial constraints. We award scholarships to
students from primary to university levels.
We also provide standard conducive learning environments in urban and rural areas by building and equipping schools. Through this programme we are contributing to SDG, #4 which seeks to, “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities.
Scholarship Benefits:
This scholarship provides the following benefits for successful applicants:
- ₦120,000.00 Cash award
- A brand-new laptop
Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship Program:
- Applicant MUSTÂ be an indigene of Rivers State.
- Applicant MUST have graduated with a law degree from a Federal or State university.
- Applicant MUST have gained admission into the Nigerian Law School.
- Applicant MUST hold a First Class or Second Class Upper degree.
- Applicants of Kalabari origin with a Second Class Lower degree will also be considered.

Application Deadline:
Applications for the scholarship are open for entries until the 31st of January, 2025. Early applications are highly encouraged.
