The Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) is inviting applications for its Advocacy Intern position in Geneva, Switzerland. This is a one-year paid internship designed for a recent graduate who wants to gain practical experience in global health advocacy and contribute to efforts to fight malaria.

Medicines for Malaria Venture is a leading product development partnership (PDP) working in the field of antimalarial drug research and development.
Its mission is to reduce the burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by discovering, developing and delivering new, effective and affordable antimalarial drugs.
The Advocacy Internship forms part of MMV’s External Affairs work and provides an early-career opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals.

Responsibilities
The Advocacy Intern will support a range of advocacy and external affairs activities. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting day-to-day administrative and coordination activities within MMV’s Advocacy team.
- Maintaining calendars, meeting schedules, agendas and records.
- Conducting background research to support advocacy initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
- Contributing to presentations, briefing materials, reports, website content and other communication tools.
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of events, meetings and partner engagements.
- Participating in selected external meetings and providing summaries and follow-up actions.
- Helping to maintain resources and online platforms.
- Supporting other advocacy and external affairs activities as required.
Eligibility Requirements
MMV is looking for a curious, motivated and collaborative recent graduate with a university degree in:
- International Relations
- Communications
- Global Health
- Development Studies
- Public Policy
- A related field
Applicants should also have:
- Strong written English.
- Strong spoken English.
- Good organisational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Confidence in using digital tools.
- A genuine interest in global health and malaria.
Working knowledge of French is an asset, but it is not stated as a mandatory requirement.
Previous Experience
Previous work experience is not required.
However, MMV welcomes applicants who have previous experience through:

Internship Salary and Support
The internship is paid in line with Geneva’s minimum wage and applicable employment regulations.
MMV will also:
- Cover relocation travel to Geneva and back.
- Provide onboarding and orientation support.
- Assist the selected candidate in identifying accommodation options.
Work and Residence Permit
MMV will support the successful candidate in obtaining the required Swiss work and residence permit for the duration of the internship.
The permit, known as a Legitimation Card, is linked exclusively to the internship at MMV.
It does not provide a pathway to permanent employment at MMV or with another employer in Switzerland after the internship ends.
