Programme Overview

The Intellect Africa Summer Fellowship 2.0 is a fully virtual, intensive 5-week programme scheduled between July 1st and August 15th, 2026. Fellows will be placed into interdisciplinary teams of 5 and work in a startup-style environment to build real, impactful solutions.

Fellowship Structure & Roles

Each team will combine three core roles:

  • Builder (Engineering Mindset) – Focus on developing functional prototypes
  • Innovator (Product Mindset) – Focus on user needs, design, and product thinking
  • Business (Entrepreneurship Mindset) – Focus on business models, strategy, and pitching

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to undergraduate students across Africa
  • Aged 16–28 years
  • Past Fellows are ineligible for this edition
  • Must be fully available for the 5-week virtual programme (recommended 6–8 hours per week)
  • Strong interest in technology, product development, or entrepreneurship
  • Willingness to learn, build, and contribute actively in a team setting

Key Requirements

  • Access to a personal device (laptop required for Builder and Innovator roles; any functional device acceptable for Business role)
  • Reliable internet connection (internet support will be provided during the programme)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Mandatory use of Slack for team communication
