Are you a student who has a story to tell about cancer and its impact on society? Are you a researcher focused on cancer and its treatment? The Dorcas Cancer Foundation (TDCF) is calling on passionate Nigerian researchers, students, and professionals to apply for its Research Grant — a golden opportunity to fund groundbreaking projects focused on childhood cancer.
About the Dorcas Cancer Foundation
The Dorcas Cancer Foundation (TDCF), Nigeria’s only paediatric cancer non-profit run by an oncologist, was established in 2015 in memory of Dorcas Adepitan, who died of osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in 2013 at the age of 12.
For hundreds of cancer survivors who are children, adolescents, and young adults, TDCF has provided direct funding for their treatment over the last ten years. Additionally, we have led the way in Nigeria’s evolving young person cancer environment, taught thousands of healthcare professionals, and funded paediatric cancer research.
Nigeria was recently added as a WHO GICC country as a result of TDCF’s significant contributions to health systems improvement initiatives in childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer through partnerships with a number of important organisations, including the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
