About the Global Peace Photo Award 2026
Organized by Edition Lammerhuber in partnership with global organizations, the Global Peace Photo Award honors photographs that promote the idea that our future depends on peaceful coexistence. The competition celebrates positive aspects of humanity — success, empathy, encouragement, solidarity, and the fight against poverty, conflict, and environmental degradation.
Two Main Categories:
- Global Peace Photo Award (for photographers aged 15 and above)
- Children’s Peace Image of the Year (for photographers under 15 years old)

- Total Cash Prizes: Up to €11,000
- Peace Image of the Year: €7,000 + Alfred Fried Peace Medal
- Stories Category: 3 winners × €1,000 each
- Single Image Category: 1 winner × €1,000

Eligibility & Submission Rules
- Open to photographers worldwide
- Age categories:
- Under 15 years → Children’s Peace Image of the Year category
- 15 years and above → Main Global Peace Photo Award
- Story Category: 5 to 12 images based on a single theme (images not older than 3 years)
- Single Image Category: Up to 99 images allowed
- Images must be submitted as .jpg files with at least 3000 pixels on the longer side
- No watermarks, logos, names, or borders allowed
- Each entry must include a caption in English (maximum 2000 characters)
