Fully funded USA Hansen Leadership Institute Fellowship 2026

The fully sponsored leadership and international collaboration program known as the Hansen Leadership Institute (HLI) 2026 takes place in San Diego, California, in the United States. It seeks to cultivate future world leaders, peacemakers, and change agents who are committed to using communication, diplomacy, and cross-cultural engagement to bring about world peace.

For a three-week summer programme, HLI annually chooses exceptional undergraduate, graduate, and early-career workers from throughout the world. Known as Hansen Fellows, participants get advanced instruction in international cooperation, leadership, and conflict resolution.

Degree Level

Open to undergraduate students (final year) and graduate students (master’s level), as well as young professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential.

Available Subjects

The Hansen Leadership Institute does not require a specific academic major. However, it focuses on key interdisciplinary areas such as:

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Hansen Leadership Institute 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

For International Applicants:

  • Be an undergraduate (final year) or graduate student, or have recently graduated.
  • Be between 20–25 years old at the start of the program.
  • Have demonstrated leadership potential in community, university, or professional life.
  • Possess a good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Never previously visited the United States (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Possess a valid international passport by the application deadline.

For U.S. Applicants:

  • Be a U.S. citizen aged 20–25 years.
  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university in the U.S..
  • Have a strong record of community involvement and leadership.
