The Blue Ocean Student Entrepreneur Competition 2026 is the largest and most prestigious virtual entrepreneurship competition for high school students in the world, founded and managed by the nonprofit Blue Ocean Student Entrepreneurs Corporation in Maryland, USA. It invites high school students (Grades 9–12 or equivalent) from around the globe to conceive, refine, and pitch innovative business ideas that create new market space and solve real problems using Blue Ocean Strategy principles.

Participants can compete individually or in teams of up to 5 students. All pitching and judging are done online, so students from virtually any country can participate without travel barriers.

Eligibility

To participate in the 2026 competition, applicants must:

  • Be a high school student (generally ages 14–18 or Grade 9–12 / equivalent) at the time of registration.
  • Compete individually or as a team (maximum 5 students).
  • Submit a Blue Ocean Business pitch video and concept that is original and unpublished.
  • Complete the Blue Ocean Mini-Course (recommended or required).
  • Ensure all content is in English.

There are no geographic restrictions — students from all countries can compete virtually.

Required Documents

Participants should prepare the following:

• A Blue Ocean pitch video (3–5 minutes) in a standard format (e.g., mp4, mov)
• A written concept summary following the Blue Ocean pitch template
• A YouTube link of the pitch video with the hashtag #blueoceancompetition included
• Team member names if entering as a group
• Any supplementary material required by the submission form
