The Healthcare Research Grant Initiative (HRGI) is a collaborative effort by professionals across healthcare and technology, pooling resources to empower Nigerian students in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Medical Laboratory Science.
We provide ₦300,000 research grants to support innovative student projects in:
- Digital Health
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Healthcare
- Health Informatics

Eligibility and Selection Criteria of the Healthcare Research Grant Initiative (HRGI) 2025:
Interested applicants for this initiative MUST fulfill the following requirements:
- Applicants MUST be Undergraduate and postgraduate students studying in a government approved tertiary institution in Nigeria
- Applicants MUST be students in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Medical Laboratory Science
- Applicants MUST be willing to participate in individual or team-based projects to compete for this grant.
- Focus Areas:Â Digital Health, AI, and Health Informatics applications in healthcare.
- Projects will be reviewed by a panel of experts based on innovation, feasibility, and impact.
Application Deadline:
Applications for the Healthcare Research Grant Initiative (HRGI) 2025 are open for entries until the 15th of September, 2025. Early applications are highly encouraged.
