About Grooming Centre University Grant Scheme;
Applications for the Grooming Centre University Grant Scheme for the academic year 2025 are being accepted from suitably qualified candidates by the Governing Council and Management of the Grooming People for Better Livelihood Centre (Grooming Centre), one of Nigeria’s top microfinance institutions.
The program’s goal, the third in a series, is to encourage research and the growth of current knowledge.
Students studying microfinance, rural development, inclusive finance, social business, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSME), and women’s involvement in development are eligible to receive the Grooming Center Scholarship Grant.
Requirements for the grooming scholarship
- The following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for the Grooming Center Scholarship Grant:
- The candidate must be an undergraduate or graduate student at a Nigerian university whose research focuses on any of the following topics: women in development, financial inclusion, microfinance, rural development, social enterprise, MSMEs, technological development, or any other research that aims to help people escape poverty.
- Areas of Research
- The research study’s focus must be applicable to the Nigerian setting, innovative, and practical. It should also be able to advance any of the aforementioned areas of interest in the Nigerian market.
- The candidate must be enrolled in a Nigerian university or polytechnic that has received NUC/NBTE approval.
- A written and signed recommendation from the applicant’s project supervisor is required.
- High levels of innovation, creative thinking, and data inclusivity are required of the research.
- There are no restrictions on application based on age, gender, religion, or ethnicity.
Grooming Centre University Grant Duration and Reward
- A sum of ₦20 million will be shared to successful candidates.
- Undergraduates: ₦100,000
- Postgraduates: ₦200,000
- The Grooming Centre University Grant will be awarded to 100 Undergraduate and 50 Postgraduate students.Â
Required Documents for Grooming Centre Scholarship Grant
- The applicant must submit a research concept of between 10-15 pages which will include an introduction, literature review, research methodology including references and a page of the candidate’s personal profile.
- The candidate will also submit a final soft copy of the research project on completion of the study. (See Abstract for Guide).
