NDDC Local Masters Scholarship 2025/26 for Nigerians

About the Scholarship Program.

Applications for the 2025 NDDC Scholarships for postgraduate studies in Nigeria are now open. As part of her Human Resource Development initiatives, the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, is commencing the 2025 Post-Graduate Scholarship Programme, to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation. The NDDC Local Masters Scholarship aims to foster global competitiveness by supporting academic excellence and professional development in key discipline.

Benefits of the Scholarship Program

• The NDDC Scholarship will fund the full fees of selected applicants throughout the period of study in a Nigerian or overseas tertiary institution.
• Selected beneficiaries will also get a monthly stipend during the course of the program.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship Program:

Interested candidate for the scholarship must meet the following requirements:

• Be an indigenes of the Niger Delta Region (see the states below).
• Be not older than forty (40) years of age.
• Possess a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Bachelor’s Degree.
• Alternatively, possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit and a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD).

The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree(s) from recognized universities in the following professional disciplines:

• Engineering
• Agricultural Science
• Law
• Medical Sciences
• Geosciences
• Environmental Sciences
• Management sciences
• ICT
• Education
•  Humanities

The Eligible Niger Delta States

Niger Delta states in Nigeria includes;

• Akwa Ibom State,
• Bayelsa State,
• Cross River State,
• Delta State,
• Edo State 
• Rivers State.
• Imo State
• Ondo State
• Abia State

Required Documents for NDDC Scholarship 2025

You will be submitting the following while applying for the NDDC Scholarship (Local Masters);

• Guarantor’s written consent of good conduct of the applicant from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.
  • Member of National Assembly/State House of Assembly
  • Chairman of the LGA
  • First Class Traditional Ruler
  • High Court Judge
• Recent passport photograph
• Local Government Identification Letter
• Post Graduate admission letter from a recognized Oversea University. Relevant degrees from recognized Universities.
• NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
