Yes, this is a massive opportunity, and you read that right. An all-expenses-paid scholarship trip to New York City by Jane Street’s 2026 IN FOCUS training. The programme is officially accepting applications from students who are willing to learn, explore, and showcase their talent for the world to see. From January 12 to 17, selected undergraduate students would be flown out to New York City for a fully funded multiday, immersive experience in strategy, software engineering and strategy at the world’s innovative trading firms.
About the IN FOCUS scholarship
IN FOCUS is a hands on programme designed for those who are not privileged to have access to STEM opportunities and are facing barriers in the maximisation of their careers. A practical programme called IN FOCUS was created for students who have had trouble obtaining advanced STEM prospects. Participants will study the methods and ideas employed on a daily basis at the company and delve deeply into Jane Street’s problem-solving culture across a number of days.
From a tiny New York office, a handful of traders and technologists created IN FOCUS. They are currently with over r 3,000 people employed in five international offices. We trade over 200 venues across 45 countries in a wide variety of asset classes. From programmable hardware to machine learning to functional programming, we are innovators in technology. Additionally, we use our knowledge and experience to benefit our clients even while our proprietary trading firm prospers.
Programs offered by the IN FOCUS scholarship

Over the course of a few days, IN FOCUS offers classes and activities in three separate tracks: software engineering, trading, and strategy and product.
a. the trading programme, students will learn about mathematical and financial topics such as probability, market structure, and arbitrage through a combination of short classroom lectures, group games, and mock trading sessions.
b. In the software engineering programme, students will learn about OCaml and the libraries and tools that we use in our everyday work, as well as the fundamentals of building electronic trading systems. Then, they’ll put these tools to use by writing the backend and UI for a computer game and a program that trades on a simulated stock exchange.
c. In the strategy and product program, students will explore various groups across Jane Street – including treasury, compliance, operations, trading desks, technology groups, and more – to learn how we solve cross-departmental problems to drive the firm’s growth
