About the Scholarship Program:

The Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation scholarship is the initiative of Alhaji (Engr.) Abdulkabir Aliu, the CEO of Matrix Energy Group. From a modest beginning of 70 brilliant students in Six Federal Universities at inception in 2014, the Foundation now accepts applications from Students in 13 Federal Universities across the Nation. The Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation scholarship is the initiative of Alhaji (Engr.) Abdulkabir Aliu, the CEO of Matrix Energy Group. From a modest beginning of 70 brilliant Students in Six Federal Universities at inception in 2014, the Foundation now accepts applications from Students in 13 Federal Universities across the Nation. We believe that, in life, knowledge must be guided by values. Through a commitment to character formation and a rigorous and inspirational academic program, the foundation strives to build in each Muslim Student the capacity for disciplined learning and consideration of others. The Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation leadership team and Board of Trustees are two of the foundation greatest strengths; bringing together diverse groups of engaged and informed individuals to act as role models for our Muslims Students.

The AbdulKabir Aliu Foundation has announced the commencement of applications for the fully funded Matrix Energy Scholarship for Nigerian students.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship Program:

• Masters Candidates
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical and 
  • Materials Engineering, or a closely related field. 
  • Must have graduated with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division (2:1)
• Doctoral Candidates
  • Must possess a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, or a closely related field. 
  • The Master’s program must be research-based, with a minimum of 60% weighted average in coursework

Application Deadline:

Applications for the Matrix Energy Fully Funded Scholarship 2025 are open for entries until the 31st of August, 2025. Early applications are highly encouraged.

Selection Process:

All applications will undergo a rigorous review by a joint panel from the AAF and the department of Materials Science and Engineering, OAU Ile-Ife.
