About the Scholarship Program:
The Ondo State Scholarship Board was set up on 26th April, 2000. It is one of the interventionist agencies of the State Government in the Education Sector. The responsibilities of the Board are geared towards the prompt delivery of bursary, scholarship awards and financial assistance to deserving indigenes of Ondo State in approved tertiary institutions of learning as well as using these as lifeline to students with humble background. It has a mission to provide financial aids to students to fulfill desired success and dreams and also harness resources to assist indigent students in tertiary institution. Its vision is to empower a generation of educated individuals by promoting accessible education through financial aid and community support, fostering a future of knowledge, equality, and opportunity for all
The leadership of the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) under the dynamic and student-centered administration of Sen. Oyelade Hammed, the Global President, hereby calls on all eligible Ondo State students across the country to seize the golden opportunity presented by the Ondo State Scholarship Board for the 2024/2025 academic session. The application portal is now open for scholarships, bursaries, and financial assistance to support students in their academic journeys. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Ondo State Government to the educational development and welfare of its indigenes.

General Rules:
- To qualify for scholarship award, a candidate must have completed at least an academic session in the institution. This is because the performance of the prospective awardees in the first year examination determines his/her eligibility.
- The scholarship award is only renewable based on satisfactory academic performance on the part of the students.
- A student on part-time, pre-degree or certificate course is not qualified for either scholarship or bursary awards.
- Dishonesty, fraud, malpractices and/or any other form of misconduct will attract termination of the award.
Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship Program:
Eligibility for the Scholarship Program includes:
- Bursary award is open to all bonafide Ondo State students right from their first year in their respective higher institutions.
- Exclusion of part-time and sandwich students
- Financial assistance for law, clinical medical, and physically challenged students
- In addition, the board now offers expanded support services to help students access external funding from foundations, NGOs, and private donors.
- Scholarship and Bursary awards are restricted to registered full-time students in recognized Federal, State, and Private tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
- Physically challenged students in tertiary institutions (with valid evidence of their disability) are eligible for financial assistance.
- Regular Scholarships are purely for students in second year and above. Minimum CGPA of 3.5 for Universities on a 4.0 scale, 4.0 for those on a 5.0 scale, and a minimum CGPA of 3.5 for students in Polytechnics.
Supporting Documents:
- Letter of identification from the Head of Department of the candidate’s institution
- Verification and monitoring exercises conducted by the board to confirm studentship.
- Letter of identification from the Head of Department of the candidate’s institution.
- Valid school identification card issued by the institution.
Application Deadline:
We encourage all qualified students—whether in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, schools of nursing/midwifery, or health technology institutions—to visit the official portal and complete their application between May 1st and May 30th, 2025.
