Lagos State Scholarship Board (LSSB) Bursary/Scholarship 2025

About the Scholarship Program:

The Lagos State Scholarship Board is the State Government’s organ established in February 1968. Its primary motive is to support the wellbeing of indigenous students in higher education.

Offered Bursary/Scholarship Awards include:

• Lagos State Bursary
• Maritime Academy / Law School Bursary
• Scholarship for Undergraduate Students
• Scholarship for Masters Students
• Scholarship for PHD Students

In 2001, Local Scholarship Award scheme was ultimately restored to assist brilliant but indigent students. This was to ensure that no Lagos State indigene in any tertiary institution is deprived of the opportunity of attaining his/her educational dream due to non-availability of funds. The award of Scholarship is basically in two forms. The first Form is awarded on compassionate grounds The second form is put in place to encourage brilliant academic performance with minimum CGPA of 3.5 and above or Second Class Upper/ Upper Credit Subsequent payment of such awards is made on presentation of progress report as evidence that they have moved to the next stage of their programme.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants MUST be a Nigerian by origin
• Applicants MUST be a registered citizen of Lagos State
• Applicants MUST be registered students of a government approved tertiary institution in Nigeria

• Evidence of indigeneship from:-
  • (a) An Oba and
  • (b) Local Government Council
• Letter of Current Admission.
• Student’s Identity Card.
• Birth Certificate.
• Academic Certificates obtained.
• JAMB result slip.
• Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA) identification card of the applicant.
• Photocopy of the payment receipt.
• Downloaded application form.
• Any other documentary evidence.

Application Process for the Scholarship:

How to Apply for Lagos State Scholarship 2025.

1. Visit Click here and click on ‘to continue registration’ on the tab
2. Fill in all required details to start the Application
3. Click on ‘Start Application’
4. A pop up will display A GENERATED PIN, write down the pin for future references.
5. Click on ‘Proceed’
6. A page will display the SCHOLARSHIP OR BURSARY option, pick what you applying for and Add the pin which was generated earlier on to the available tab.
7. Click on ‘Continue’
8. Then you’ll generate a Web GUID (it is a payment code that’ll process your payment).
   (Note: Kindly write down the code for reference purpose.)
9. Click on ‘Proceed to Payment’
10. Make payment with your preferred option. (Note it’s best to make payment with your card)
11. Click on ‘Proceed’
12. After completing the payment process, a successful page will be displayed.
13. Click on the ‘Print Revenue Receipt’ link below to generate evidence of payment.
14. Go back to the Lagos State Scholarship board Home page, click on ‘Payment Validator’on the top tab.
15. Input your payment reference code (Web GUID)
16. Click on ‘GENERATE APPLICATION ID’
17. Payment successful Page will be displayed, Stating ‘Your Application ID has been sent your mail and Phone number.
18. Continue with filling the forms

Application Deadline:

The deadline for application for this scholarship is not specified hence early applications are highly encouraged.
